Sunday

It was a good day. We got up early, read the paper, and cleaned up to hit the road to visit our youngest and his family. We haven't seen them since Christmas and the little guy is getting so big and smart. He resembles my son when he was that age, so it triggers memories when I watch him make certain gestures or give me familiar looks.

My granddaughter, almost three, looks just like my daughter, her mother. Her eyes are a clearer blue and her hair is blonder, but the rest is the same. Her older brother looks like his dad, has mannerisms like my husband, but acts like my daughter. He acts almost EXACTLY like her. It kind of makes me feel that I had very little part is raising her, but that she came out being what she was going to be and acting how she was going to act. And now he is doing the same thing. It's a very weird feeling to see your child growing up again in a different body, but that's how it feels.

So walking down the street today, my son snapped this picture of my husband and grandson. It's very similar to a photo of my husband and older grandson, making it feel like another circle has been formed. And it's exactly like I remember my husband (with more hair) and my kids (take your pick) and the big circle in which we live and grow.
